Nothing you cant do yourself with the help of digital downloads. 

The bigger record companies act as Management of Publishing and Distribution (check them on wiki!) but overall when you sign to them they act as the owner of an artist work. dependent on the contract. That is how they make there money, sign up artists for record deals and ensure a return through clever marketing. They are only peed off because they are losing market ground due to piracy and inipendant labels. They may not be making as much as they were but they are still making money you can bet on that.</description>
